According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, Ryan died from a gunshot wound. Authorities said an autopsy was conducted following his death, with preliminary findings identifying the fatal injury.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been fully released. Cary police are investigating the incident with assistance from the Major Investigations Assistance Team.

Authorities were called to a home in the 300 block of Carl Sands Drive in Cary shortly after 1:30 p.m. on September 26 following a report of a medical emergency. Responding personnel found Ryan suffering from a critical traumatic injury and transported him to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation into what led to the shooting remains ongoing.

Visitation is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at Cardinal Funeral Home and continue until the funeral service.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cary, Illinois.

Interment will follow at Windridge Cemetery.

The services will provide family, friends, teammates, teachers, and community members an opportunity to come together, say goodbye, and honor the memory of a young life taken far too soon.
